 Event:  2016 Team Ortho Foundation Monster Dash - Summit near Nina to Selby and Cathedral Hill Park

Description of Variance:

Location: Summit near Nina to Selby and Summit- Selby to Kellogg at Cathedral Hill Park,

Noise Source: Team Ortho Foundation has requested a sound level variance to provide the use of a sound system for announcements, amplified outdoor music at Summit near Nina to Selby and by Cathedral Hill Park, for the Monster Dash National Anthem music and Race Announcements. The variance is requested for the hours of 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., with a pre-event sound check at 7:45 a.m. by Summit near Nina to Selby and Cathedral Hill Park on Saturday, October 29, 2016. The Department of Safety and Inspections will be recommending the following conditions: 1) The variance shall be for the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., with a pre-event sound check at 7:45 a.m. for the Summit near Nina to Selby Area and Cathedral Hill Park on Saturday, October 29,  2016. 2) All electronically powered equipment used in conjunction with the event shall not exceed 80 dBA as measured 50 feet from any sound source used for music and/or announcements. 3) The applicant shall provide personnel and equipment to ensure compliance with the sound level variance conditions. 4) All electronically powered equipment, PA systems, loudspeakers or similar devices shall be turned off no later than 9:00 a.m. on the date of the event.

If you attend the public hearing, you will be given the opportunity to present verbal comments or objections before the City Council.   If you are unable to attend the public hearing, you may within fifteen (15) days of the mailing date on this notice, submit written comments or objections with the City of St. Paul, Department of Safety and Inspections, 375 Jackson Street, Suite 220, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55101-1806, attention Barb McMonigal-St. Dennis or by email to barb.mcmonigal-st.dennis@ci.stpaul.mn.us. Written comments or objections must be received on or before Tuesday, October 18, 2016.
